Great news for sportsmen and women across the country. The U.S. Department of the Interior recently announced 42 new hunting and sport fishing opportunities across more than 87,000 acres within the National Wildlife Refuge System and National Fish Hatchery System.
This expansion more than triples the number of opportunities compared to the previous administration — a win for hunters, anglers, and conservationists alike.
As Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum stated, hunting and fishing are more than traditional pastimes — they are vital to the conservation of our lands and waters and our outdoor recreation economy.
For those of us here at the Steuben Fish & Game Club, this is exactly the kind of news we love to see. More access means more opportunities to pass our outdoor heritage on to the next generation.
